DSLR Instruction & Photosafaris

DSLR Tuition Workshops

Just got your first DSLR and don't know where to start? You have come to the right place!!! I can teach you how to set up your camera for optimum performance. I will help you cut through the jargon and show you how to capture those drop dead photographs you've always wanted to take, be it landscapes or portraits or a combination of both. Learn with me how to get the most from your camera. I will show you how to set your camera up to use manual mode and explain all you need to know about shutter speeds, apertures and white balance. It's as easy as falling of a log.

If you want to know about editing techniques for your photographs, I can help you with that too. I have many years experience of editing and processing images in Photoshop

A teaching session is charged at £50 per hour, plus mileage charged at 45 pence per mile. Teaching sessions can be at a location of your choice.

If you are interested in a teaching session, please contact me using the form at the bottom of the page

I have been walking and cycling the highways and byways of Norfolk since I was a child (a long time ago!) and have a pretty encyclopaedic knowledge of the area. I can offer a range of guided walks with some great photographic locations, or maybe just a walk with lots of information about the history, wildlife and ecology of the area.

Photosafari Landscape Walks

If you are a competent photographer and interested in learning more about the best locations in Norfolk and Suffolk for landscape photography, there is no better way than combining it with a walk. I am happy to turn out in any weather and can offer early morning walks for sunrises and late evening walks for sunsets, to take you to some great locations. I will take up to 5 people, to minimise the impact on the enviroment and speak German and French

My fees are as follows:

£25 per person for up to 4 hours

£40 per person for up to 8 hours

Groups (minimum 5 people)
£20 per person for up to 4 hours

£30 per person for up to 8 hours.

I can take up to 3 people in my car and I charge 45 pence per mile

I am available for booking at anytime I am not on holiday myself.

Below are some of the walks I can offer:

Great Yarmouth Heritage (approx. 5 miles/2 hours) Visiting notable buildings and Medieval Town Walls. Great Yarmouth has one of the most complete medieval walls after York!

Halvergate Marshes (approx. 7 miles/3-4 hours) One of the great wild places in Norfolk. The spectacle of thousands of migrating geese in winter is something to behold. Bearded tits are a speciality of this area.

Blakeney Point (approx. 8 miles/5 hours) This is THE birding hotspot of Norfolk and not for the faint hearted. The walk is often on shingle but we take plenty of rest stops to photograph the wonderful scenery and savour the atmosphere

Haddiscoe Island (approx 12 miles/all day) An area of real wilderness. This is the nearest I can find to moorland type walking and the birdlife is fantastic in winter. I have seen Hen Harriers, Peregrines and Short-Eared Owls here. Excellent views of the Roman fort of Garianonnum on the opposite bank of the river. One of Norfolk’s best kept secrets.

If there is a location you would like to visit I will design an interesting route to your specification.
